Jenkins County now has a new logo, thanks to the efforts of the Jenkins County Commissioners.

In 2008, the commissioners began the process of creating and adopting a county logo. Jenkins County citizens were given the opportunity to present designs for the logo with entries in the “County Logo Contest” coming from Patricia Clifton, Michael Lane, Joyce Mixon, Megan Lever and Lewis Drake. The commissioners authorized Commission Chairman James Henry and Vice-Chairman Pamelia Dwight to work on the logo and present the draft design to the board for approval. The board asked that items included in the designs submitted in the logo contest be incorporated into the final design. The county utilized the design services of the University of Georgia, a service available through Millen Better Hometown, to combine the suggestions into one logo. On January 20, 2009 the board approved this design that is now the official logo of Jenkins County.
