The Chatter Box
I ran out of Tylenol last week and went looking to purchase another bottle. The act turned out to be a game of “hide and seek.”
The first store I visited had none on their shelves. I just thought they had sold out and went somewhere else only to discover the shelves were empty of the product there as well. In the third store I visited, I found one bottle on the shelf and as I purchased it inquired as to why the product was so scarce around town. A store clerk informed me that certain “lots” of the product had been recalled by the company.
That same night a news report on the recall aired on the national news. It seemed the product itself was good, but there was a “musty” smell to some of the bottles that had consumers complaining. Mine had no noticeable aroma when I opened it.
A recall is not something new for Tylenol. There have been several through the years. Thankfully, this last one seems to have been for something minor rather than for product tampering or an inferior product.
At least the company seems willing to face the problem once it was discovered and do whatever was necessary to insure the safety of its consumers.
Here it comes – BP oil company could take a lesson from them!!!
