Qualifying as a candidate for Nonpartisan offices in the Nov. 2 General Election is underway this week at the office of the Jenkins County Probate Judge, first floor of the Jenkins County Courthouse. Candidates may qualify until noon Friday, July 2.

Offices up for election are: State Court Judge, presently held by R. Hubert Reeves III; Jenkins County Board of Education, District #2, presently held by Irene Drummer; and Jenkins County Board of Education, District #5, presently held by Carroll Gay.

Qualifying fees are $90 for the board of education seats and $568.92 for State Court Judge position.
