Rev. Bernie Khaw is new pastor of M.U.M.C.
The Rev. Bernie and Ruth Khaw
The Rev. Bernie Khaw took over the reins of the pastoral leadership of the Millen United Methodist Church (M.U.M.C.) Sunday, June 20. After a ceremonial transfer of leadership to Rev. Khaw, he led an inspiring Father’s Day service.
Rev. Khaw and his wife Ruth come to Millen from Baxley where he served both the Melton’s Chapel and Zoar Methodist Churches in the North Baxley Charge. The couple was married in 1973 and has two children.
Their son, A.J., 33 is a pediatrician serving the medically uninsured in Miami, Florida. Their daughter, Bliss, 28, is a supervisor in risk management with an international business consulting firm located in Shanghai, China.
Rich Odom, pastor parish relations chairman, and the church family are delighted that Brother Bernie and Ruth have been called to serve the M.U.M.C. and the Millen community.
A reception for the community to meet Rev. Khaw and his family was held June 27 at the church social hall.
