Summer Reading is almost over! July 23 is the official end of our 2010 Summer Reading Program, so make sure to bring your reading records in before then to claim prizes and enter our weekly drawings. And remember, it’s all free at the library!
It’s going to get weird at the library 11 a.m. this Wednesday, July 14, when we are having a super-fun program called “Water Balloons and Weird Science” that will let you be a mad scientist for a day!
At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, we’re having our terrific teen craft project! It’s a little more complicated than the little-kid crafts, but don’t worry – it’s still easy enough for anyone ages 8 and up! There will be only one more teen craft day this summer, on July 21 at 3 p.m., so don’t miss it!
On Friday, July 16, at 3 p.m., we’ll have the wrap-up party for the teens and tweens. Come in and enjoy snacks and games, and find out who the winners of the Underwater Art Contest are!
Monday, July 20, at 2 p.m., Mr. Bob Linsenmeyer will be visiting the library, bringing his funny songs and stories with him. Stop in to hear the stories he has to tell and the songs he’s singing, and before you know it you’ll be playing along in a giant rhythm band!
New to the library: “The Spy” Clive Cussler and Justin Scott. It is 1908, and an American weapons designer is dead of an apparent suicide. But his daughter knows that he was murdered, and hires the Van Dorn Detective Agency – and its top detective, Isaac Bell – to find her father’s killer. Soon he finds himself battling German, Japanese and British spies, all of whom have a stake in stopping the top-secret US project called “Hull 44”.
