Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor:
I cannot remember a time when an incident such as the activity by the Federal government at the Bo Ginn National Fish Hatchery has generated as much interest and curiosity among the citizens of Jenkins County.
A vinyl-coated chain link fence has been constructed around a portion of the hatchery property enclosing an area of about 10-12 acres. Armed deputy sheriffs patrol this fence seven days a week. The fence is estimated to cost about $80,000, give or take a few thousand.
As a staff member for Congressman (Bo) Ginn for 10 years I learned that when the Feds wanted to establish a new facility or to become involved in an existing facility, money was no problem.
The vinyl-coated chain link fence will most likely last for several decades which suggests long-term involvement by the Feds. Armed guards suggest something of very significant value is in the enclosed area. I big. economy an or to
This is something big, folks.
do not know how big but big, big. Hopefully, it will boost the economy of Jenkins County.
The Feds are supposed to give
answer to this mystery in two
three weeks. So, stay tuned The Millen News for answers.
