The Jenkins County Hospital Health Fair has been a local favorite for several years now. The laboratory will offer the “discount rate” lab package

a general health screening. The package will include a Complete Blood Count (CBC)

check hemoglobin and White Cell Count, Basic Metabolic Profile (BMP) to check renal function and Blood Sugar, AST for a basic liver screen, and a Lipid Profile for good and bad cholesterol. All for one price of $15.

In addition to the tests offered in the package, participants will be given the opportunity to have their thyroid

TSH) and/or prostate (PSA) for males screened for an additional $5 per test. It will be up to the participants to take the results to their physicians for evaluation. This is a great opportunity for our citizens and a great health screen, which in the past has proven to uncover previously undiagnosed conditions. Don’t miss it!

The health screenings will be offered two days: Aug. 3-4 (Tuesday and Wednesday) from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. The Lipid Profile and Glucose require an 8-12 hour fast (no eating).You may have water only and your regular medications. Just present yourself to the front lobby of the hospital to receive your lab packet and take advantage of this great opportunity!
