Well, the Summer Reading Program is over for this year, but that doesn’t mean that things aren’t going to keep on being interesting! Keep your eyes open for new events coming up in the next few months like author talks, special Civil War-related programs, and much more!

There will be no Storytime Wednesday, July 28, or on Wednesday, August 4. Afterschool Atorytime will resume Wednesday, August 11, at 4 p.m.
New at the library: Black Baseball: A History of African- Americans & the National Game by Kyle McNary. From before the Civil War to the present day, the history of black baseball players is traced from sandlots to the biggest stadiums in the world. It’s a story of heartbreak, prejudice, and redemption, and it’s a story that every baseball fan should know, no matter what color their skin might be.
The Preacher and the Presidents: Billy Graham in the White House by Nancy Gibbs and Michael Duffy. Billy Graham is possibly the best-known preacher in the United States, and has been for decades. He has counseled the White House for over 50 years, and influenced the outcome of every political election since 1952. Learn about his struggles in balancing prayer and politics here.
