“Operation Crackdown” nets 19

With 40 warrants in hand, deputies from 12 law enforcement agencies descended upon Millen and Jenkins County during the early morning hours of Friday, Aug. 27, in “Operation Crackdown.” The 10 months investigation resulted in the arrests of 14 individuals, including two juveniles, on drug related charges and five others on previously issued warrants.
Deputies assembled early Friday morning at Magnolia Springs State Park and after a briefing, divided into three teams that began arresting defendants around 6 a.m. The arrests were the result of an undercover operation in which the defendants sold an undercover deputy cocaine and marijuana.
Those arrested on drug charges were as follows.

18, of 618 Dexter Avenue, two counts of sale of marijuana - $10,000 bond;
Stephon Solsberry, 19, of 1128 Holmes Drive, five counts of sale of cocaine, three counts of sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a housing project, sale of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school and use of cellular telephone to facilitate a drug transaction - $50,000 bond; Evan Rockeal Styles, 18, of 510 Toole Court, sale of cocaine, sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a housing project and sale of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a housing project - $30,000 bond.
Kwmaine S. Shingleton, 20, of 1112 U.S. Highway 25 South, sale of marijuana, sale of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school - $20,000 bond;

Khambrell V. Gross, 22, of 410 Utley Road, Waynesboro, two counts of sale of cocaine and sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a housing project - $30,000 bond; Charles E. Young Jr., 31, of 3545 Oak Hill Road, four counts of sale of cocaine and four counts of sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a housing project - $50,000 bond;

21, of 918 Buckhead Road, possession of marijuana - $1,000 bond.
Juvenile #1 – 15, of Millen, sale of cocaine, sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a housing project – incarcerated at Reidsville Youth Detention Center; and Juvenile #2 – 16, of Millen, sale of marijuana, incarcerated at Reidsville Youth Detention Center.
Those arrested on previously issued warrants were as follows:

Polly D. Smith, 37, of 610 Parrish Burke Road, child support lockup order – held without bond; and Quinney Williams, 51, 511 North Hendrix Street, child support lockup, held without bond.
Additional arrests in connection with “Operation Crackdown” are anticipated.
“Our communities are plagued with the same problem we see in our whole country with drug abuse. This operation targeted street-level dealers and was very effective. am very proud of the undercover investigator as well as other deputies and officers who came together to make Operation Crackdown the success it has been,” commented Jenkins County Sheriff Robert Oglesby.

Agencies participating in the operation were: Jenkins County Sheriff ’s Office, Millen Police Department, Screven County Sheriff’s Office, Sylvania Police Department, Burke County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol, Department of Natural Resources, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Ogeechee Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Richmond County Sheriff ’s Office K-9 Unit, Georgia State Prison K-9 Unit and Newington Police Department.
