Ms. Vernice Moody, 63, entered eternal rest Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at University Hospital, Augusta.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, at Zion Baptist Church with Pastor P.M. Broomfield officiating. Burial will follow at Millen (Belcher) Cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late Dennis “Bud” Moody and Rosa Lee Moody. Vernice was a 1964 graduate of Burgess Landrum High School and was a founding member of the Burgess Landrum Alumni Association.

Survivors include her son, Nicholas (Chiho) Starks; and grandchildren, Tiana and Sean Starks - San Antonio, Texas; “daughter” (great-niece), Vanessa Gordon; sister, Mary Moody (Ralph) Hall - Hephzibah, GA; niece, Charlotte Gordon; great-niece, Kia Golff; a host of other relatives and friends.
