Edward Hargrove, 86, of Perkins died August 14
Edward Hargrove, 86, of Perkins died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 at the V. A. Medical Center in Augusta.
Funeral Services were held 11 a. m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010 at the Green Fork Baptist Church with Dr. Ray Freeman and Dr. Bill Perry officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hargrove was born in Jenkins County and was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II where he earned a Purple Heart. He was a retired mechanic and a member of the Green Fork Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Hargrove, and daughter, Edna Thompson.
Survivors include his daughter, Betty Hargrove (Charles) Bragg of Millen; two grandsons, Chad Pitts of Perkins and Mitchell Sikes of Sylvania; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Dylan Sikes; and a son-in-law, Tony Thompson.
Pallbearers were Tracy Sharpe, Joe Thompson, Bernie Thompson, Grant Ray, Junior Joyner, Murray Taylor, Bob Dailey and Robbie Reynolds.

Crowe-Fields Funeral Home of Millen was in charge of arrangements.
