We have new hours starting Sept. 1. From now on, we will be open 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Tuesdays; and 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturdays. We hope that you will enjoy the extra time in the evenings to come in after work or school.
Every Wednesday at 4 p.m. we have a special treat for the youngsters – our terrific after-school Storytime! Preschool and elementary school kids will enjoy this chance to listen to a story and do a fun project like making a bookmark, creating tasty treats, or making cute pictures to display on the fridge.
The library will be closed on Monday, Sept. 6, for Labor Day. We hope that everyone enjoys the holiday!

Have you got grilling fever? Come to the library for some terrific recipes for the grill from folks like Food Network celebrities Bobby Flay and Pat Neely.
New at the library – “Savor the Moment” by Nora Roberts. Laurel McBane’s dream of attending culinary school was almost derailed by her parents’ financial trouble, but her friends rallied behind her and got her through. Now, working with them at their wedding planning company, Vows, she’s repaying them by creating luscious cakes and other delights for their clients. But she doesn’t really believe in that whole romance thing and all the extravagance that other women crave. Can this low-key lady find her happiness with her partner’s brother?

Georgia Southern University – Camp Lawton – Is there anyone in Jenkins County who hasn’t heard that they had found something important at Mangolia Springs? You’ve probably heard by now that it was a bunch of artifacts from Camp Lawton. If you’d like to know more about it, including why it’s so important and when you can see some of the artifacts that are being recovered, head over to Georgia Southern University’s brand new site about Camp Lawton and get all the information and news available.
