Mrs. Veda Gay Cowart, age 85, of Garfield died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010 at her daughter’s residence in Bloomingdale.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 2010 at Garfield Baptist Church with the Revs. Ben Gay and Archie Seabrooks officiating. Burial followed in the Hebron Cemetery.

She was born in Jenkins County and was retired from Jockey International and was a member of the Garfield Baptist Church.

Survivors include her two daughters, Sandra (Ellis) Lariscy of Bloomingdale and Wanda (Ronald) Barnes of Ailey; a son, Wayne

June) Cowart of Garfield; a sister, Joyce (William) Gunn of Millen; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were nephews. Memorials may be made to the Savannah Hospice. Crowe-Fields Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
