Miss Wilson, Mr. Simmons exchange vows

Mr. and Mrs. Russell Heath Simmons Mr. and Mrs. Russell Heath Simmons Megan Olivia Wilson and Russell Heath Simmons were united in marriage 6 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Millen. The Rev. Jamie Archer officiated.

Megan is the daughter of William M. Wilson III and Sandra Oglesby of Millen. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Martha Sue Wilson and the late William M. Wilson Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Taylor and the late Samuel Oglesby, all of Millen.

She is a 2007 honor graduate of Jenkins County High School and is currently a senior at Georgia Southern University pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education.

Heath is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Alton Simmons of Twin City. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Rayford Simmons of Twin City and Mr. Clinton Russell Collins and the late Mrs. Bobbie Dyches Collins of Swainsboro. He is the great-grandson of Wilbur Arnold of Hazlehurst.

He is a 2003 honor graduate of Emanuel County Institute and a 2009 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a bachelor of science in Middle Grades Education. He is employed by the Candler County Board of Education.

Given in marriage by her parents, Megan chose her cousin, Morgan Hendley Johnson as her matron of honor and her sister, Keri Aaron Moore, and sisterin law, Jessica Brinson Aaron, to serve as matrons of honor, all of Millen. Bridesmaids were Sydney Brooke Aaron of Millen, Megan Nicole Lane of Statesboro, Belk Ashton Brown of Twin City and cousins of the groom, Taylor Catherine Powell of Wrightsville and Macy Denise Simmons of Twin City. Flower girls were Macey Nicole Aaron and Lilliam Grace Moore, nieces of the bride, of Millen.

Heath chose his father, Russell Alton Simmons, to serve as best man. Groomsmen were Lance Hunter Simmons, brother of the groom, Marcus Wayne Simmons, cousin of the groom, of Twin City, William Dallas Wilson and Wesley Alan Aaron, brothers of the bride, of Millen, Rand Bowen Henrix of Metter, Paul Mathew Blackburn of Garfield and William Blake Johnson of Twin City. Ring bearers were Shane Tyler Moore and Blake Griffin Aaron, nephews of the bride, of Millen.

Program attendant was Sarah Nicole Wilson and Bailee Ann Small presided over the bride’s book.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Millen Community House.

After a wedding trip to Antigua, the couple will make their home in Twin City.
