Borck named District Media Specialist of the Year

Denise Borck, media specialist for Williams James Middle School, has been selected by the Georgia Association of Instructional Technology and the 2010 Georgia Library Media Association as the Library Media Specialist of the Year for Bulloch County and for the Coastal Georgia District. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry McMillan of Millen.

Mrs. Borck has also been selected Teacher of the Year for William James Middle School by her faculty and will be traveling to Baltimore in November to present a session at the National Middle School Association Conference entitled, “Book Trailers: No Your Typical Book Report.”

Mrs. Borck was a 1988 honor graduate and valedictorian of her class at Jenkins County High School. She graduated cum laude in 1992 from Georgia Southern University with a bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education. In 1995, she earned her master’s degree and in 1997, she obtained her specialist’s degree in Middle Grades Education.

Mrs. Borck resides in Statesboro with her husband, Thomas, and their two daughters, Bailey and Kinsey.
