Libary News

By Sharon Blank

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at the library! We have our decorations up, there are lots of books on the winter holidays available, and don’t forget we have terrific Christmas movies and music just waiting for you to check them out!

Your children will be hearing the music of Christmas as well when you bring them to our great after-school Storytime! When you bring your elementary and preschool kids to Atorytime, they won’t just get a chance to listen to a wonderful seasonal story, they’ll get to do a cute craft and maybe even get a tasty snack to tide them over until dinnertime. It’s an excellent way to help them learn to love reading, so bring them in this Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 4 p.m., or next Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 4 p.m. These will be the last Storytimes until next year!

The Lock-In party for the teens has been rescheduled for January. We will let everyone know when the new date is as soon as we can.

Thanks so much to everyone who came to “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” on Saturday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 5! We hope you all enjoyed the show!

New to the library – “Decision Points” by George W. Bush. After eight critical years as President, George Bush tells the story of his presidency from the night of the 2000 election through 9/ 11, the war in Iraq, and all the way to when he handed the reins of power over to Barack Obama.

The 2010 PNC Christmas Price Index - So how much does it cost for a partridge and a pear tree for him to perch in? Do the nine ladies dancing cost more than the 12 drummers drumming, or do the 10 lords a-leaping get paid more than any of them? Head to this fun and gorgeously-animated site to find out if the cost of True Love’s presents have gone up or down and by how much.
