Barrow elected to Steering, Policy Committee

Congressman John Barrow was recently elected by his fellow members of Congress from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, the American Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico to represent them on the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee.

The Steering and Policy Committee will formulate and promote strategies for the 112th Congress. It is composed of 12 regional representatives and 24 regional whips. The focus of the committee will be to create jobs and improve the economy over the next two years.

As a member of the Steering and Policy Committee, Congressman Barrow will help make decisions about his Caucus’s committee assignments. The committee also helps set the Caucus’s policy agenda.

“This is the time for commonsense solutions to the problems we’re facing,” said Barrow. “I’m honored that my colleagues chose me to help point us in that direction.”
