The Chatter Box

By Deborah Bennett

The announcement last week that PalletKraft will open a plant here is welcomed news.

Approximately 20 job positions have already been filled with more openings to come as the facility begins full scale operations.

Paula Herrington of the chamber of commerce and Robin Scott of Jenkins County Family Enrichment Center are providing great assistance to PalletKraft management as they work to get the facility up and running. Kudos to both for their efforts!

I have a chicken that lays golden eggs! Really, and I would like to sell it to anyone who believes me and is willing to part with their hard earned cash.

That claim is about as outlandish as one man’s prediction last week that the world end on Saturday, May 21. Unfortunately, national news media gave his remarks some air time. It must have been a slow week for news!

Happy birthday this week to: Steve Burke, John T. Herrington Jr., Pat Bolton, Tracy Herrington, Monica Weathersby, Ashley Williams, David Clifton, Quinnie Lane, Leslie Rowland, Jonathan Gay, Daniel McMillan, Cecelia Bragg Howell, Sheila Williams, Mary Frances Lattimore, Billy Joe Scruggs, Emory Lewis, Hugh Lewis and Tammy Lee Mixon.

Celebrating wedding anniversaries are: Mr. and Mrs. Steve Burke, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Brinson and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Adams.
