Anyone, group or individual, interested in participating in the annual Fair-on-the-Square parade should contact Cindy Linder at 982-3274. All entries must have signs for entry. No 4-wheelers or motorcycles will be allowed in this year’s parade.

Save My State Parks Day

Everyone who supports Magnolia Springs State Park has an opportunity this Saturday to put that support into action. Sept. 24 is Save My State Parks Day. Friends and volunteers throughout Georgia will take time out of their schedules and spend that time working on behalf of their park. At Magnolia Springs, volunteers are needed to continue the work of clearing parts of the trails still blocked due to the storms earlier this year. Also, representatives of the archaeology team from Georgia

Southern University will provide information and guided instruction at the site of Fort Lawton and the breastworks to visitors and volunteers. Volunteers are asked to be at the park by 9 a.m. At noon, lunch will be provided by Friends of Magnolia Springs State Park to all who have worked during the morning.
