The Jenkins County High School (JCHS) boys’ basketball team didn’t make the most of their opportunities at the free throw, shooting only 47 percent, as they fell to the Bulldogs last Friday. “We had our chances to win it late but didn’t execute,” said head coach Mark Whitt.

JCHS (9-8, 2-4) trailed the entire game until tying it at 60 with under a minute to play.

“We’ve not played well our last four games so we’re working hard to get back to level of play we had through December. Record wise, we’re at the same point now as we were last year. The kids know it is how you play in February that can keep you playing into March,” Whitt added. Zavondric Shingleton and James Williams both scored in double-figures with 14 and 10 points respectively. Daniel Langston and Trentin Drayton added 8, Lavontay Evans, Jamaine Torrence and Justin Ellis 6, Jerome Young 2.
