Miss Brown, Mr. Oglesby announce engagement


Johnny Edward Oglesby Jr. and Jacquelyn Lazar Brown Johnny Edward Oglesby Jr. and Jacquelyn Lazar Brown Mr. and Mrs. Dolan Edward Brown III of Garfield announce the engagement of their daughter, Jacquelyn Lazar Brown, to Johnny Edward Oglesby Jr. of Millen. The future groom is the son of Mrs. Bonnie Robbins Oglesby of Hephzibah and Mr. Johnny Edward Oglesby Sr. of Waynesboro.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Betty Strickland Cramer of Millen and the late Mr. Jack Strickland and Mrs. Mary Ann Brown of Twin City and the late Dolan Edward Brown Jr. Miss Brown is a graduate of Jenkins County High School. She attended Georgia Southern University and graduated from Ogeechee Technical College in 2006 with a degree in Culinary Arts. She is employed by Beaver Creek Plantation as the chef and hospitality manager.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Bonnell Vaught of Hephzibah and the late Mr. H.C. Robbins and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Oglesby. Mr. Oglesby is a graduate of Jenkins County High School. He attended Ogeechee Technical College. He is employed by the Millen/Jenkins County Fire and Rescue Department as a lieutenant.

A family wedding is planned for Saturday, March 31. Following the ceremony a reception will be held at 7 p.m. at Brown Farms on Grapevine Road in Garfield. No local invitations are being sent. All family and friends are invited.
