Annie Lou Landing Dailey

Mrs. Annie Lou Landing Dailey, 88, of Millen went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Feb 2, 2012.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at Scarboro Baptist Church with the Revs. Reginald E. Blakewood and Bruce Eaton officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

She was born in Screven County and was a long time resident of Scarboro. Mrs. Dailey was the oldest and longest serving member of the Scarboro Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and swinging on her front porch.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Annie Pierce Landing, her husband, John “Buck” Dailey, twins, John and Carolyn Dailey, and a great-grandson, Henry L. Durden IV.

Survivors include her five daughters, LouNeta (Sterling) Quick of Greenwood, S.C., Gloria (Bill) Kent and Joyce D. (Carroll) Williams of Millen, Frankie (Rochel) Bland and Johnnie Ann (Therman) Fail of Statesboro; a son, Otis (Mary, a very special daughter-in-law) Dailey of Millen; two sisters, Trudie (Randy) Newman of Glennville and Walton Burke of Sylvania; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

Active pallbearers were Billy Kent, John Kent, Joey Bland, Brad Dailey, Mikel Small and Lance Griffith.
