Jessica Lynn Hodges named Beta Scholar

Jessica, a senior at Emanuel County Institute, is one of 226 recipients chosen out of 73, 278 twelfth-grade members of The National Beta Club. She plans to attend Georgia Southern University after graduation. She was recommended for this award by ECI’s Beta Club sponsor, Leslie Johnson, and high school principal, Barry Joiner.

Jessica is the daughter of Eddie and Retha Lynn Hodges. Her grandparents are Nick and Martha Johnson and Edsel and Earlene Hodges.

The National Beta Club is the nation’s largest independent youth organization. Since its beginnings in 1934, The National Beta Club has been committed to providing students with a positive experience in a supportive manner with their peers in grades 5 -12. The organization recognizes academic achievement, encourages service to others, and promotes the development of good character and leadership skills. There are currently over 8,500 chapters across the nation.
