Albert O’Brien Linder, Sr.,

Albert O’Brien Linder, Sr., 87 of Millen died Monday, March 10, 2014 at Bethany Nursing Center.

Funeral services were at 11 a. m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Millen United Methodist Church with Rev. David Willette officiating. Burial followed in the Millen Cemetery.

Mr. Linder was born in Chatham County, and was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, a retired conductor for Norfolk Southern Railroad for 40 years, and a member of the Solomon Lodge F&AM. He was also a member of Millen United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Methodist Men, the Beaulah Garner Sunday School Class, and the Golden Oldies.

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert Linder and Pearl Altland.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marjorie Tuten Linder; two sons, Brien (Cindy) Linder of Millen and Dan (Vilma) Linder of Dearing; his grandchildren, Daniel Linder, Josh Linder, Mary Elizabeth Linder, Jamie Linder (Jacob) Wilkinson, Seth Linder, Inderia Martinez and Gianni Marconi; and several great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Daniel Linder, Josh Linder, Seth Linder, Gianni Marconi, Jacob Wilkinson, Bob Newsome, Wiley Booker, Jody Bowers, and Mike Head. Memorials may be made to the Millen United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 750, Millen, GA 30442.

Crowe-Fields Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
