“It’s a Wonderful Life”, a live radio play, returns to Millen

Mainstreet Millen’s Cotton Avenue Players will present It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play by Joe Landry at the PAL Theater on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. The play, performed in Millen in December 2005, was well received and many of the original cast members are returning for this production. Play Director Anna Burch describes what a radio play is like. “People used to sit around the radio instead of the television, and listen to plays. The audience will be able to watch the actors perform their roles and also be able to see the foley artist perform the sound effects such as crickets chirping and footsteps in the snow.” The 13 cast members who will perform the various roles are Jamie Archer, David Sherrod, Sally Thompson, Molly Edenfield, Tony Gay, Talmadge Fries, Rosemarie Hinnant, Carley Small, Robert Reeves, Jr., Monica Albrightson, Joe Sasser, Julian Wade, and Hank Whiters. The performance is in memory of Lillian Reeves, “Our Original Zuzu.” The admission is a $5 donation. Concessions will be available at the intermission. The play is produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc. (www.playscripts.com)
