Summer Reading is in its final innings, but we’ve still got some fun stuff in the works!

This Saturday, July 23, at 12:30 p.m. we’ll be having a farm to table feast at our “How It’s Done” workshop. We’ll be taking delicious ingredients you may have in your garden or buy at the farmer’s market and turning them into tasty treats to help you enjoy the flavors of summer!

Then on Tuesday, July 26, we’ve got a double-header of events. At noon, our teens will be doing fun North American crafts during the Teen Scene, then we’ll have our End of Summer Reading Party at 2 p.m. We’ll have food, games, and live demonstrations of weightlifting for the kids to enjoy. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the end of the Summer Reading “season”, and it’s all on Tuesday, July 26.

If your kids or teens have been participating in the Summer Reading Program, we request that you bring in their reading logs and pick up any prizes that they may have earned by Monday, August 1.

Are your kids ready for school? It will be here before you know it, but we can help your kids get ready. We have lots of resources to refresh their skills and review their learning, as well as books and databases to help them when they need to do book reviews, AR tests, and research papers. So don’t let the end of Summer Reading Program (or the end of summer vacation) be the end of trips to the library for your kids.

New at the library – “The Charm Bracelet” by Viola Shipman. On her birthday each year, Lolly’s mother gave her a charm for her charm bracelet. Now seventy and starting to forget things, Lolly wants to reconnect with her daughter and granddaughter, who have become too busy for Lolly and her family stories. But when her daughter and granddaughter receive a call about Lolly, they rush home. Over the course of the visit, Lolly tells the stories behind each charm on her charm bracelet, and the three generations grow closer in joy, love and faith.

Well, that’s all for now – see you at the library!
