Vietnam’s Veteran’s Day

Vietnam Veteran’s Day is March 29th. This date in 1973 was the last day that U.S. troops were on the ground in Vietnam. The war started in 1954 and ended in 1975. The Col. John James Jones #939 Children of the Confederacy invites the public to stop and say thank you to a veteran. Jenkins County lost three young men during the Vietnam era: SP4 John Terrence Kile, Sgt Michael Roy Waters and SSG Jack Weaver.

Jenco to host Open House March 29th

Anyone who is age 60 or older; lives in Burke, Columbia, Glascock, Hancock, Jefferson, Jenkins, Lincoln, McDuffie, Richmond, Screven, Taliaferro, Warren, Washington or Wilkes County; and have ever thought of getting a Last Will and Testament, Financial Power of Attorney or Advance Directive for Healthcare, is invited to call Georgia Legal Services Program® (GLSP) at 706-721-2327 to register for the free legal clinic to be held on Saturday, March 25th, from 9 a.m. until noon at GLSP offices, 209 7thStreet, 4th Floor, Augusta. Private attorneys will assist Georgia Legal Services Program attorneys in the drafting and execution of simple wills, financial powers of attorney and advance directives for healthcare at no cost to you. Appointments are on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited, so call today to schedule your appointment!

Bloodmobile to be here March 27th

The bloodmobile of Sheppeard Community Blood Center will be at the Optim Medical Center-Jenkins parking lot 1-6 p.m. Monday, March 27th. Give the gift of life!
