Ag Center to be dedicated in honor of J.C. Douglas April 14th

The Jenkins County Commissioners have announced that the Jenkins County Agriculture Center will be dedicated and renamed in honor of former Commissioner J.C. Douglas who died February 7th, 2016. The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 14th.

Mr. Douglas was the County Agent with the Jenkins County Extension Service for 28 years, a member of the Board of Jenkins County Commissioners for 12 years, serving as Chairman for five years. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Swainsboro Technology College for nine years. He had served on the Jenkins County Memorial Library Board and was a member of Zion Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board, Sunday School Superintendent and Treasurer.

The public is invited to attend this event.
