If present plans materialize, the idle Morgan Cotton Mills will be operating a garment factory of some type. Mayor Walter Harrison reports that there are three active prospects for the mill at this time. In order to determine the number of female workers available for garment factory work, an office has been set up next door to the Western Union office in the Hotel Estelle. Women between the ages of 16-50 who desire to work for the factory are encouraged to sign-up. Currently, only those living within 20 miles of Millen should register.

Mr. Ernest Daniel has purchased three store buildings west of the Bank of Millen known as the Godbee property and will remodel them with modern fronts. The beautiful Community House is nearing completion and will be dedicated April 9th. The work on the new City Hall is being speeded up and excavation for the High School annex is being made and construction will soon be underway.

Georgia Power Company advertises new 1936 Kelvinator refrigerator with built-in thermostat and automatic defrosting switch.

Durden Chevrolet Company of Millen announces appointment as a dealer for Chevrolet passenger cars and trucks. Mr. W.C. Durden is the owner.
