Four members of the Wiregrass Chapter of Swainsboro, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution, traveled to Screven County to present a program to the Brier Creek Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution for their April meeting. Those attending, from left were Dess Smith III, Chip Durden, Emory Fennell, DAR Brier Creek Chapter Regent Alecia Evans and Steve Burke of Millen.

The meeting was held at B/C DAR member Dianne Fitzner's home on Tuesday afternoon, April 12. Compatriot Burke presented his program with the help of Emory, Chip and Dess, on "Life during the American Revolution" and the "Brier Creek Battle on March 3, 1779". Compatriot Burke also brought with him many of the items that he has fabricated over the years out of "road kill", including his "Armadillo Hat". (Photo contributed)
