(Photo contributed) Although this is his first year of playing golf for Jenkins County High School, Vic Mincey will represent the school in the Georgia High School Association state golf tournament to be held May 22-23 in Warner Robins.

Vic, a freshman, was also the Low Medalist in the Area 2A Public Golf tournament with a score of 72.

Coach Chuck Sanders commented on Vic’s accomplishments.

“Vic is a very talented young man with a bright future ahead of him. Besides golf, he also plays basketball and runs cross country for the high school. Whether it is in athletics or academics, Vic will be very successful in life. He has great character, is a very respectful person and very nice and polite to everyone he deals with. It's been a pleasure being his coach this year,” he said.

Vic is the son of Michael and Kyla Mincey.
