Assistance available to spade/neuter pets

Pet owners who need financial assistance with having their dogs/ cats spaded or neutered should contact Sandra Sherrod with Jenkins County K-911 Rescue. The organization has funds available for this through a grant the organization recently received. Those interested may obtain an application by contacting Sandra at 982-3224.

Days to fly your Confederate flag in May

May 28th - Birthday of Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard. He was the first prominent General of the Confederate States Army. Born in 1818, he died on February 20, 1893 at age 74.

Depot Dudes cancel performance

Leroy Clayton and the Depot Dudes will not perform Saturday night at the Perkins Depot as planned due to the illness of several band members.

JCHS Class of 1975 to hold reunion

The Jenkins County High School Class of 1975 will hold its annual picnic on Saturday, June 10, at Magnolia Springs State Park at 11 a.m. All class members should meet at the Pavilion. A catered barbecue meal will be served. The cost to each class member (significant other included) is $20 payable in advance to Ms. Eubie Clark-Bryant at 3380 Tanglewood Drive, Augusta Georgia 30909. Please mail your funds no later than Friday, May 26. Mr. Danny Bennett, Mr. Domingo Green, Mrs. Ellen Douglas and other former teachers will be recognized at the event.

Lions Club to display flags

The Millen Lions will display the U.S. flags on the Jenkins County Courthouse lawn in honor of Memorial Day, May 29th.
