Sgt. K-9 Paloma dies

It is with heavy hearts that the Jenkins County Sheriff’s Office announces the “End of Watch” for Sgt. K-9 Paloma was on May 31, 2017.

A statement released by the Sheriff’s Department read, “Paloma will be greatly missed by many. We cannot put into words how we feel. This is not just a loss of a fellow officer for our office. It is a loss of a family member and a faithful friend. Paloma will be remembered as a loyal and an outstanding K-9.”

Paloma had been working for the Sheriff’s Office since 2012, alongside Chief Deputy Wesley Aaron. She was the K-9 who was certified as a Narcotics officer. She assisted in countless arrests that involved narcotics.

Chief Deputy Aaron, as well as the Sheriff’s Office, would like to thank everybody for the prayers and calls concerning Sgt. K-9 Paloma.
