Summer Reading is in full swing, and we’re having a lot of fun. We have plenty of great programs and crafts lined up and ready to amuse, amaze and entertain you. This year’s theme is “Build a Better World”, and everyone from toddlers to senior citizens can participate.

Every Wednesday at 1 p.m. this summer we have our terrific “Teen Space” craft program. Older kids and teens can come in and make something cool. This Wednesday, June 21, we will show your teens how to grow their own pizzas. Next Wednesday, June 28, we will show them how to do stop-motion animation.

Are you ready to let your creativity flow? Our “Paint @ the Library” adult painting workshop will be this Saturday, June 24, at 12:30 p.m. We will show you how to paint a cute pug that will make you smile every time you see it. Space is limited, so sign up today!

On Tuesday, June 27, at 2 p.m. we will have a visit from the world’s most famous clown – Ronald McDonald! That’s right, the real Ronald will be right here at the library telling jokes and doing magic tricks. It’s always a blast, so don’t miss out! This program is sponsored by McDonald’s Restaurant of Millen.

New at the library – “California Dreamin: Cass Elliot Before the Mama & the Papas” by Penelope Bagieu. The Mamas & The Papas were arguably the most famous musical group of the Sixties, and Mama Cass was the soaring voice that laid the foundation for their iconic sound. But before The Mamas & The Papas, there was Cass Elliot, a teenager from Baltimore with a big attitude, big talent, and big dreams. At her size, she wasn’t the kind of girl that wound up on record covers, but she found friends to help her achieve her dreams anyway.

Well, that’s all for now – see you at the library!
