Marion Christine Dickey Casey

Mrs. Marion Christine Dickey Casey, age 81, went home to be with her heavenly father on Friday evening, August 18, 2017. She was under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, where she was a patient at their inpatient facility. Christine was a native and lifelong resident of Jenkins County, and a 1954 graduate of Jenkins County High School. She married Neil Casey, Sr. in 1965, and remained in Millen where she was a homemaker. She was a member of The Church of God in Millen.

She loved to work in her garden and was known for her cooking, but most of all she will be remembered as a loving grandmother, who adored all of her grandchildren.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Dessie Willie Dickey and Eula Royal Dickey; her husband, Neil Casey, Sr.; a great-grandson, Brandon McKenzie; and a great-granddaughter, Hendleigh Anderson.

Surviving are four daughters and two sons-in-law, Teresa Ellison of Sylvania, Teresa Weeks and Lou Theopolis of Port St. Lucie, FL, Kathy Casey Roeske of Huntsville, AL, and Tina and Richard Lane of Millen; a son and daughter-in-law, Neil M. Casey, Jr. and Susie of Statesboro; a brother, Bobby Dickey of Millen; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and another expected in February, and one great–great grandchild.

The family received visitors on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 4-6 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 21, 2107 at 11 a.m. at The Church of God in Millen with Rev. James Cox and Rev. Josh Farthing officiating. The body lay in state one hour prior to the service.

Entombment was in the family mausoleum in the Millen City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Phillip Kent, Willie Mock, Bryce Lane, Garrett Anderson, Zac Becton and Zan Becton.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Church of God Building Fund, 487 Old Louisville Hwy, Millen, Ga. 30442.
