Nira Skinner Chance

Mrs. Nira Skinner Chance, 83, of Millen died

Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at her residence.

She was born in Screven County, was a retired seamstress for Jockey International and a homemaker.

Mrs. Chance was a loving mother and grandmother and was a member of Green Fork Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron

L. Chance, and son, Wayne Chance.

Visitation was held Friday, August 25, 2017 from

6-8 p.m. at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held 3 p.m. Saturday, August

26, 2017 at Green Fork Baptist Church with Rev.

Roland Dann officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter, Gail Chance of

Millen; three grandsons, Wayne Chance Jr. of Perkins,

Travis Chance (Shannon) of Statesboro and Jason Ballard (Carrie) of Jacksonville, FL; a granddaughter, Danielle Williams of Millen and five great-grandchildren, Maeson and Marett Chance, Byron Williams, Zachary Williams and Trace Williams; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Chance of Evans.

Pallbearers were Freddy Brinson, Keith Taylor, Tony Taylor, Edwin Cates, Ken Thompson, and Byron Williams.

Crowe-Fields Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
