Moose Lodge will sponsor a Poker Run On Sunday, Sept. 17th,

the Statesboro Moose Lodge will sponsor a Poker Run to benefit, among other organizations, the local 4-H program. A poker run is an organized event where participants, usually using motorcycles, visit five to seven checkpoints, drawing a playing card at each one. The person who has the best poker hand at the end of the run is declared the winner. The Moose Club sponsored one local 4-H’er’s attendance at Summer Camp last year and plans to sponsor more 4-H’ers this year. Riders in the Poker Run are expected to arrive in Millen around 1:30 p.m. at the Jenkins County Recreation complex. Local citizens are invited to come out at that time and show their support for the event. The Statesboro Moose Lodge has several local members.
