It’s time for Teen Read Week! Every October, there is a special week set aside to encourage teens and young adults to make reading part of their everyday lives. With all of the many activities and interests that teens and older kids have, it is important that they remember that reading is an essential part of lifelong learning – and lifelong learning means a lifetime of success! This year, Teen Read Week is observed from October 9 until October 14.

Speaking of Teen Read Week, we will have a special craft time for teens and older kids to celebrate the event on Wednesday, October 11, at 4 pm. We will be making cool light-up zombies to celebrate the season – and reading!

Our next Paint at the Library adult painting class will be on Saturday, October 14, at 12:30 pm, and we will be capturing the spirit of the season with a slightly-spooky landscape showing a foggy fall scene.

October 15-21 is National Friends of Libraries Week! If you would like to be part of our library’s Friends group, stop by and pick up an application. Membership in the Friends of the Library is a great way to support your local library.

Every Tuesday at 4 pm we have a fun storytime for the kids. This Tuesday, October 10, we will have a storytime about spiders. Next Tuesday, October 17, we’ll have a Fancy Nancy party.

Do you know “How It’s Done”? It’s our great adult craft time, and this month we will be making fun light bulb jack-o-lanterns to light up the lives of local trick-or-treaters. Come join us on Saturday, October 21, at 12:30 pm for a spooktacular good time.
