Small Business Saturday set for Nov. 25th

Saturday, November 25, is Small Business Saturday┬« – a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities. The program was started in 2010 to counter Black Friday with its focus on big box retailers. Small Business Saturday is the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Its purpose is to encourage shoppers to support their small locally owned businesses.

Main Street Millen has sponsored Small Business Saturday in Millen for the past four years and plans to do so in 2017. All locally owned businesses are welcome to participate. There are no requirements for participation, but businesses who do participate are encouraged to be open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and to offer a “special” to entice customers to come in and shop. Businesses will receive free shopping bags for customers and other merchandising materials to help promote the day.

All participating small businesses will be featured on Main Street Millen’s Facebook page in November. If you would like to be part of Small Business Saturday, call Art Johnson at 478 982 5595.
