We have a Very Important Person coming to the library this Saturday, December 9, at 11 a.m. – Santa Claus! That’s right, Santa is coming to the library for Storytime with Santa, a free program for the whole family where Santa will read a Christmas story to all the good little girls and boys and interact with the kids. It’s going to be the most wonderful time of the year for all of the children, and you won’t want to miss it, This program was made possible by generous donations from our lovely patrons – thank you!

Every Tuesday at 4 p.m. we have an afterschool storytime, where we will tell kids stories and do fun crafts with them. This Tuesday, December 12, we will have a Hanukkah storytime. On Tuesday, December 19, we will tell Christmas stories and do Christmas crafts.

We’ll be painting a gingerbread man at our “Paint @ the Library” adult painting class on Wednesday, December 13, at 4 p.m. Space is limited, so sign up today to learn how to paint this whimsical holiday painting.

Our monthly Teen Space program will be on Saturday, December 16, at 12:30 p.m. and we will be decorating Christmas baskets. Your teen or older child will have a wonderful way to offer a present or decorate their room with these cute Christmas baskets.

The library will be closed from Friday, December 22, through Tuesday, December 26. We will reopen on Wednesday, December 27.

New at the library – “The Whispering Room” by Dean R. Koontz. Mild-mannered, beloved schoolteacher Cora Gunderson didn’t seem like the kind to go on a shooting rampage that culminated in her taking her own life. Most people thought that she’d simply gone insane. But FBI agent Jane Hawk knows better, because she’s seen the pattern of the many other exemplary individuals who suddenly erupted into violence. Now, she’s gone rogue to track down the secret cabal behind the horrific acts that are turning humanity’s best into killers.

Well, that’s all for now – see you at the library!
