Looking for a great, fun New Year’s resolution that’s easy to keep? Resolve to read more! From magazines to mechanical engineering, romance to rocket science, we have something for just about everyone to enjoy!

We will be closed on Monday, January 1 for New Year’s Day.

Every Tuesday at 4 pm we have a great afterschool storytime for the kids! This Tuesday, January 2 at 4 pm, we will celebrate the New Year with great stories and a fun craft. Next Tuesday, January 9 at 4pm, our theme will be penguins!

Our first “How It’s Done” adult workshop for 2018 will be next Saturday, January 6 at 12:30 pm. We will help you get organized for the new year with special dry-erase boards which will include a special water-marbling technique to make your dry-erase boards truly unique!

For those of you who enjoy getting e-books and downloadable audiobooks from Georgia Download Destination/Overdrive, we have an important announcement about a big change coming in February: we will be transitioning to a new e-book provider, RBDigital. You will still be able to get your great e-books and audiobooks, but with the new service, you will also be able to get e-magazines – and all without holds and waiting periods! Due to this transition, you will be unable to place holds on Overdrive after January 1, and we encourage you to print out your wish lists so that they will not be lost.

Don’t forget to “Like!” our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/jenkinscountymemoriallibrary to find out all the cool events we have planned!

New at the library – “The Vanishing Season” by Joanna Schaffhausen. Ellery Hathaway knows a lot about serial killers, but not because of her job as a cop in sleepy Woodbury, MA. It’s because before she was a cop, she was victim #17 of a serial killer... the only one who survived. When three people disappear in three years, all around her birthday, she begins to wonder if someone out there knows her secret. After failing to get her superiors to listen to her, she contacts the one man she knows will believe her: the FBI agent who saved her life. But he’s got his own problems...

Well, that’s all for now – see you at the library!
