Welcome to the New Year! We are looking forward to another year of serving the people of our community with the best education, entertainment, and activities for all ages and interests.

We’re going to start the year off right with our “How It’s Done” workshop at 12:30 pm on Saturday, January 6. To help you keep those New Year’s Resolutions to get organized, we’ll have a great project to make a gorgeous DIY dry erase board. It’s going to be extra special because we’ll be showing you how to make beautiful water-marbled papers as part of this project.

Every Tuesday at 4 pm we have a special afterschool storytime for the kids. They get to listen to a fun story and do a cute craft project related to the story. This Tuesday, January 9, we will be telling penguin tales. Next Tuesday, January 16, we will be sharing stories about winter.

Our monthly “Teen Space” craft and DIY program will be on Saturday, January 13, at 12:30 pm. We will be celebrating the season with cute snowmen made from socks.

The library will be closed on Monday, January 15, to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

New at the library – “Wicked Deeds” by Heather Graham. Historian Vickie Preston and Special Agent Griffin Pryce are eager to start their new lives together in Virginia, but on the way there, they stop in Baltimore for a romantic weekend. The romance quickly turns into trouble when a popular author is found dead in the basement of an Edgar Allen Poe-themed restaurant, and the FBI’s Krewe of Hunters paranormal research team is dispatched to investigate. As more people are killed, Vickie and Griffin are pulled into a case that has disturbing parallels to the works of the horror author.

Well, that’s all for now – see you at the library!
