Do you want to learn how to straighten out your finances and keep your money in your wallet? Come to the library on Saturday, January 27, at 12:30 pm for our next “How It’s Done” adult workshop! We’ve teamed up with Queensborough National Bank & Trust for a four-part monthly series on understanding and handling your money to make the most of what you have! The first installment, “Understanding Credit”, will tell you about how to make wise use of credit cards and loans.

Our monthly Lego Day will be on Monday, January 29, at 3:30 pm. Bring the kids and let them play with our Legos and create all sorts of awesome stuff!

Every Tuesday at 3:30 pm we have our fun afterschool storytime for the kids. We will read them a story and then they’ll make an amazing craft project related to the story. It’s a lot of fun for the little ones! This Tuesday, January 30, our storytime will be about mittens. Next Tuesday, February 6, our theme will be football.

The Jenkins County Memorial Library Board quarterly meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday, January 31, at 10:30 am. The Screven-Jenkins Regional Library Board meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday, January 8, at 4 pm.

New at the library – “Many Sparrows by Lori Benton. During a Shawnee attack, settler Claire Inglesby is widowed and her young son Jacob is stolen away. Desperate to get her son back, Claire begs frontiersman and adopted Shawnee Jeremiah Ring to help her. Complications arise, however, when Claire and Jeremiah arrive at the Shawnee camp and discover that the boy has been adopted by Jeremiah’s adopted Shawnee sister.
