Robert Lewis Forehand

Mr. Robert Lewis Forehand, age 83, of Millen died on Monday January 22, 2018 at Pruitt Healthcare-Bethany in Millen GA.

The native and lifelong resident of Jenkins County was a graduate of Jenkins County High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a military police officer. He retired from Jockey International after 42 years as a supervisor. Mr. Robert was also a farmer and a member of the Elam Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Arrington Forehand; his parents, Allen Annon (AA) and Claudia Johnson Forehand; four brothers, Little Al Forehand, Henry Forehand, John David (Jack) Forehand and Doye Forehand; five sisters, Mahala Fields, Claudia Lanier, Lawana Olliff, Aliene Thigpen and Dolly Wimberly.

Surviving are four children; three sons and three daughters inlaw, Robert Allen (Bob) and Mercy Forehand of Statesboro, Lewis Annon and Sandy Forehand of Statesboro, and John David and Jessica Forehand of Millen; one daughter and son inlaw, Patricia Denise and Charles Brannen of Midville; one sister-in-law, Lucille Forehand; 15 grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A visitation was held on Wednesday January 24, 2018 at Elam Baptist Church from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 4 with Rev. Jody Bryant officiating.

Interment was in Elam Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Annon Forehand, Jr., Jackson Forehand, Shannon Burke, Marshall Lanier, Tyler Lyles, Jake Saxon, Danny Bennett and Gailyn Thompson.
