ScotBilt Homes, Inc. produces first home

(Photo contributed) The first manufactured home produced by the Millen facility of ScotBilt Homes, Inc. rolled off the line last week. The plant began operations Feb. 12th at the Chestnut Avenue location in the Industrial Park.

Founded in 2004, ScotBilt has approximately 250 employees and contractors employed at its headquarters in Waycross. The company is 100% owned by the Scott family with Sam Scott serving as CEO, Greg Scott as President, and Sherry Scot as Chairman of the Board.

The Millen plant currently has 20 employees with 50 additional persons having received training. The hiring process will proceed in stages. Company officials have said that it is their intention to hire employees locally as much as possible.

Applications for employment with ScotBilt may be picked up at the Jenkins County Chamber of Commerce office on Cotton Avenue.
