School pageant winners announced


Winners in the “Little Miss Jenkins County Elementary School” contest were: Alivia Davis, Little Miss JCES and Prettiest Hair, Prettiest Dress and Most Photogenic; Annabelle Flakes, First Runner Up and Prettiest Smile; Sidnee Lanier, Second Runner Up; and Caroline Fields, People’s Choice.

(Photos contributed) The Miss Jenkins County Schools pageant was held Saturday, March 24, with 33 lovely young ladies competing for the titles of Little Miss Jenkins County Elementary School (JCES), Miss Jenkins County Middle School ( JCMS) and Miss Jenkins County High School (JCHS). Dr. Margaret Hightower served as the emcee for the evening.

The 2017 Little Miss JCES, Aubrey Oglesby, crowned the 2018 Little Miss JCES, Alivia Davis, who also won Prettiest Hair, Prettiest Dress, and Most Photogenic. The Little Miss JCES Court included First Madison Hammock, who also won People’s Choice, and Second Runner Up was Kady Ann Richardson. Other winners included Inari Powell, who won Most Photogenic and Prettiest Smile; and Ava Brantley with Prettiest Hair.

The 2017 Miss JCMS, Anna Kate Hearn, crowned 2018 Miss JCMS, Tori Bramblett, who also won Most Photogenic. The First Runner Up was Terra Wommack and Second Runner Up was Addie Bennett, who also won Prettiest Smile. The JCMS Court also consisted of Jocelynn Boatwright, who won Prettiest Dress, People’s Choice and Prettiest Hair.

The culminating event came with the crowning of the 2018 Miss JCHS, Gracie Jenkins. The day began for the high school contestants with an interview competition with the judges. Each young lady was asked several questions about themselves and how they would be a role model for other young ladies in the school and community if they were crowned. Interviews were followed by a casual wear. Each contestant was asked to select an outfit of their choice showcasing their sense of style and individuality and what they would wear out with a group of friends. The evening wear competition followed. Each young lady was stunning as they wowed the audience.

Winners in the “Miss Jenkins County High School” contest were: Gracie Jenkins, Miss JCHS, and Most Photogenic, Prettiest Smile and Prettiest Hair; Abby Bennett, First Runner UP; Ashanti Whitehead, Second Runner Up; Cierra Linder, Prettiest Dress, and Macey Aaron, People’s Choice. The 2017 Miss JCHS, Alischia McGee, was introduced and Jenkins was crowned Miss JCHS. Jenkins also won Most Photogenic, Prettiest Smile, and Prettiest Hair. Her court includes First Runner Up Abby Bennett and Second Runner Up Ashanti Whitehead. Cierra Linder won Prettiest Dress and Macey Aaron won People’s Choice.


Winners in the “Miss Jenkins County Middle School” contest were: Tori Bramblett, Miss JCMS and Most Photogenic; Terra Wommack, First Runner Up; Addie Bennett, Second Runner Up and Prettiest Smile; Jocelyn Boatwright, Prettiest Dress, People’s Choice and Prettiest Hair. Winners in the “Miss Jenkins County Middle School” contest were: Tori Bramblett, Miss JCMS and Most Photogenic; Terra Wommack, First Runner Up; Addie Bennett, Second Runner Up and Prettiest Smile; Jocelyn Boatwright, Prettiest Dress, People’s Choice and Prettiest Hair. All proceeds raised by the pageant will be used to fund the Jenkins County High School Junior- Senior Prom.
