Winners in 5K BBQ Boogie announced

Carlee James, Overall Female winner, with her daughter Carlee James, Overall Female winner, with her daughter The first annual 5K BBQ Boogie road race was held Saturday, May 5th, with runners assembling at the Jenkins County Courthouse. The event was sponsored by the Jenkins County Chamber of Commerce.

Overall female winner was Carlee James with a time of 20:44.7. The overall men’s winner was Chad Waters with a time of 22:16.3

Other female winners were: 10 and under – 1st place-Lane Browers, 2nd place-Sarah Beth Gilpin; 11-14 – 1st place – Maddie Herrmann, 2nd place-Chansley Reese; 3rd place – Emily Suggs; 15-19 – Mollie Dann-1st place; 20-24 – 1st place-Kelsey Fleming, 2nd place-Kristin McLamb; 25-29 – 1st place-Carrie Newton, 2nd place-Melissa Williams, 3rd place-Lindsey Oglesby; 30-34 – 1st place- Jessica Suggs, 2nd place- Skylar Bragg; 35-39 – 1st place-Donna Finch, 2nd place – Brook Bowers, 3rd place – Ashley Brown; 40-44 – 1st place-Neasyie Suggs, 2nd place – Grace McLamb; 45-49 – 1st place-Renee Hearn, 2nd place-Penny Tanner; 50-54 – 1st place-Jimmie Fay White, 2nd place-Angie Bragg; 55- 59 – 1st place-Melba Pulliam, 2nd place-Lori Taylor, 3rd place-Susan Edenfield, 4th place-Laurie Fleming; 60-64 – 1st place-Linda Newton; 2nd place-Tina Welch; 65-69 – 1st place- Jan Williams; and 80 and over – Joyce Hodges-Hite.
