Freddie Lee Rachels, Jr.,

Midville, Ga.-Mr. Freddie Lee Rachels, Jr., 59, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at his residence following a long illness.

He was born in Statesboro, was a retired farmer, trucker and restaurant owner.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Garvin; father, Freddie Lee Rachels, Sr; a brother, Allen Rachels; and sisters, Rosemary Rachels and Betty Jean Sellers.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home with Rev. Ely Gregory officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Liz Rachels; a daughter, Catherine Rachels Slater (Travis); two sons, Freddie Lee Rachels, III (Hannah) and Raven Lee Rachels, all of Midville; step-father, Glen Garvin; a sister, Marie Lane (Craig) of Twin City; brothers, Glen Wilkerson (Carveta) of Waynesboro, Roy Rachels (Donna) of Swainsboro, and Greg Sellers of Cartersville; and four grandchildren.

Active pallbearers were Paul Hershey, Dennis Davis, Dick Hammond, Charlie Lanier, Charlie Lairsey, Lamar Rachels, Dillon Slater, Cody Rachels, Jones Lane, and Danny Lane.
