Huddle House Millen to honor veterans

Huddle House in Millen is showing respect and support for those who have and continue to protect this country by offering a free order of sweet cakes to all active duty, retired, and veteran military members from Nov. 9-12. “We believe that an order of sweet cakes pancakes is a nice way to share a token of appreciation and thank them for their service,” a spokesperson said.

JCHS ROTC to sponsor Veterans Day program

Friday, November 9, the JCHS JROTC will sponsor their annual Veterans Day program at 2 p.m. in the JCHS gymnatorium. Following the program, a special dedication program will be held in the JROTC classroom in memory of former JROTC instructor, retired Col. Kenneth Wade who passed away two years ago. Light refreshments will be available in the cafeteria.

Mobile Health Clinic to be here Nov. 15th

The St. Camillus Mobile Health Clinic will be in Millen Nov. 15th at the Project for Better Health office, 856 Cotton Avenue. The clinic provides expert care for the uninsured and under-insured. Prospective patients should call the Project for Better Health at (706) 360-6970 to check for eligibility and to schedule an appointment. No charges are made for any of the services provided.

Magnolia Springs State Park announces events

Nov. 8 – Homestead for Homeschool, 1-3 p.m. Cost $10 for first child, $5 for second child. Please call the park office to register. 478-982-1660. Nov. 9 – Stargazing 8-9 p.m. Nov. 10 – Butter Making & Candle Making, 10-11 a.m. Cost $5; Gourd Turkeys, 2-3:30 p.m., Cost $5; and Game Night, 6-8 p.m., $1 donation appreciated.
