Plans finalized for Christmas in Millen – Dec. 9th

The annual Christmas in Millen celebration, sponsored by Main Street Millen, is set for 2-5 p.m. Sunday, December 9th, on Cotton Avenue. A highlight of the event will be a visit from Santa which will include “Cookies with Santa.” Children will visit with Santa and then decorate a Gingerbread Man.

Other planned activities include train rides, obstacle course, and ice skating. There will also be a wreath decorating class at the train viewing platform and entertainment from 2-5 p.m.

The Jenkins County Chamber of Commerce will be selling hotdogs, chili, candy apples, cotton candy, popcorn and drinks and vendors will be offering their wares for sale. Several businesses in the community will also be doing crafts with kids attending.

Vendors interested in selling their wares during the activity should contact the Jenkins County Chamber of Commerce. Spaces are available for $25. No food vendors or yard sale items.

The lighting of the Memorial Tree will be held at 3 p.m. on Dec. 6th. Tree Lights and Star Lights may be purchased in memory/honor of loved ones. Tree Lights are $15 each and Star Lights are $25 each.

All proceeds go to the Nancy Wolfinger Scholarship Fund which awards an annual scholarship to a graduating senior at Jenkins County High School. The late Nancy Wolfinger was a Chamber of Commerce member and director for many years.
